Davis IGA, our friends at the Fife & Drum Restaurant and Kent Green hosted the second annual Pig Roast at the Green on Saturday, July 31. Shanghai Chinese Restaurant provided pan after pan from its popular kitchen while servers Laurie Potter, Kerry Coelho of Union Savings Bank, Audrey and Gary Davis and Carolyn Casey made sure no one left hungry.
With live music by local country band, Country Spice, we had a perfect day and served over 260 people under the colorful umbrellas.
Our two special guests tipped the scales at over 400 pounds and began roasting at 2 O’clock in the morning under the watchful eye of Warren’s Roasting Kings. By the time we began serving at noon, the stars of the day were well-cooked, moist and tender. Look for us on the Kent Green next year at the next Kent Sidewalk Festival.

The next time you are visiting the Green be sure and stop by Kent Kitchen Works. It could be the nicest store in town. Jeff and Trish Namm will be happy to give you a tour of the showroom and offer suggestions on how to improve any room in your home. Trish has a fine eye for design and can work with any budget.

34th Annual Kent Pumpkin Run ~ Oct. 31, 2010 | The 34th running of the Kent Pumpkin Run offers something for everyone. The festivities begin with a Kids Fun Run at 11:15 AM, followed by the 5 mile run/walk that starts at Noon. The spectator friendly, USATF certified course starts and finishes at Kent Green in front of the Kent Town Hall. Join the festivities at the start/finish area - Live Music, Refreshments (including Billy's famous Pumpkin Soup!), Bouncy House, Face Painting, Pumpkin carving, Halloween fun and much more. Post Race party for all!

The ancient autos at the North End Restaurant attracted big crowds during Kent Sidewalk Festival. Cadillac, Ford and REO in mint condition added to the atmosphere while the proud owners enjoyed a fine meal at the North End. GO TO NORTH END
Kent Green Laundromat
The Kent Green Laundromat has just completed its third year at the Green. The Laundromat is open seven days per week from 6:00 AM with the last wash load at 10:00 PM. Wash and fold service is available by the pound. Horse blankets and other equestrian items can be cleaned by arrangement with management. The Kent Green Laundromat is clean, secure and convenient.
